HOW TO CORRECTLY PLAY TENNIS

Well, it is true that not all people familiar with this sport since it is often referred a sport for the elites similar with golf. However, that assumption is misleading whereas tennis is a very exciting game that can be played by everyone. Almost in every neighborhood, there is at least one tennis court which is available for everyone hence tennis is basically for everyone. If we have heard names such as NovacJokovic, Serena Williams, or Roger Federer then at least we have known a bit about tennis itself. In knowing how to play tennis, there are several basic things that we should know before we are getting serious in knowing this game deeper. In here, luckily, we are going to know more about those basics hence we will eventually understand what the tennis is. Those basic things are:

  1. Score rule in tennis. This is important to be mastered since the score rule is quite unique comparing to other sports. Usually, tennis consists of 6 games where each game consists of three sets. In order to win a game, a tennis player must win two out of three sets and they need it to do it again and again to win the at least 4 out of six games.
  1. Still about the score rule, the points in tennis are divided into four points which are 0 (known as love), 15, 30, and 40. Each time the tennis player scores, they will get those points starting from 0. The winner of the set is the one who reaches the 40 points first. However, there will come a time where each player has a tie score which is 30 to 30. In this case, the deuce rule is applied where each player must compete to get two points instead of reaching 40.
  1. Mastering the court is also something that needs to be mastered quickly. The tennis court is always divided into sides which are separated by net in the middle. In each side, there are two other sides known as the deuce side (the court’s right side) and also the ad side (the court’s left side). Alleys are also parts of the sides where if a tennis player hits the alley side of the opponent’s then he/she will lose a point. The service box is another part of the tennis court where it is the part where a tennis player should deliver his/her serve. An important thing to be noticed is that the serve should be done on the opposite direction hence if we place ourselves on the left box then we should deliver to the right side of the opponent’s.
  1. Serving the ball on tennis is also tricky especially for amateurs. Serving needs both accuracy and power. Accuracy in order to reach the service box otherwise it will not be counted as a point and also a power in order to pass the net otherwise we need to redo it again.
